Sandy Paws Project:
Sean Scott and Kurt Murrell
Our project is to develop a website for a local mobile pet groomer, Krista Hensley. This mobile pet grooming service is called Sandy Paws and it will serve Leon, Wakulla and Franklin counties in the panhandle of Florida. Currently there are only two other groomers in the Wakulla/Franklin area, and they have waiting lists in excess of a month. This should allow Sandy Paws to gain clients who do not wish to wait, or would rather not travel with their pet for grooming. Sandy paws will provide services including in-home or on-site pet washing, hair cutting, and styling.
The main purpose of the new website is to increase profitability and local market share through convenient access to scheduling and services. The website will serve as the central location for scheduling appointments and showcasing past works. Appointments will be scheduled through a custom form developed by our team. This custom form will integrate with Google calendar as a means of organizing and scheduling appointments. Using Google calendar was an easier and cheaper solution to implement than the alternatives of a purchased 3rd party scheduling application or an integration with Microsoft Exchange server.
Our main assumption lies with our solution's heavy reliance on Google applications. We assume at this time that Google will continue to provide calendar and e-mail services. If either of these items change in the future then the scheduling process will have to be redesigned. The main constraints in this project are time and resources. We have just over two months to design, develop, and deploy the site with just a two developer team. The rest of this document will describe the specifics of the project objectives, assumptions, constraints and cost.
